Latin Three

Class Description
This class is a continuation of Latin II, so new students must be approved by the instructor to see if they have covered the necessary material before entering. After reviewing grammar and learning how to form conditional clauses and fearing clauses in the subjunctive mood, we will begin to read about the history of early Rome and translate portions of Caesar's Commentaries on the Gallic Wars that will appear on the 2013 AP Latin syllabus.

Enrolled students will have password-protected access to the syllabus,  audio readings, video tutorials, worksheets, and helpful links by clicking the bust of Caesar on the upper right. Homework and quizzes are assigned weekly in this yearlong course and exam assessments are administered at the end of fall and spring semesters. We will also prepare for the National Latin Exam, Level III in February.

This class meets Thursdays @ 8:30-9:45.  For cost, location, and registration, please contact us: classicalprep@gmail.com.
Classes start September 8, 2011 and follow the LEAD calendar.

Nota Bene: this class will not meet September 15th. Instead, a teacher -guided tour of the Classical galleries at the Michael C. Carlos Museum is scheduled for Friday, December 2, 2011.

Let's start our course by learning about Julius Caesar:
