Elementary Classical Greek One
Class Description
Elementary Classical Greek One exposes students in grades 3rd-6th to the Greek alphabet, vocabulary, beginning grammar, and simple readings through a variety of hands-on activities, songs, art projects, and games. Students will also learn the relationship between Greek vocabulary and English derivatives and explore Greek mythology, geography, and ancient Greek culture. Light homework will be assigned.
Customized materials will be provided to enrolled students by accessing a password-protected site that will include the syllabus, audio readings, video tutorials, worksheets, and helpful links: HERE.
Elementary Classical Greek One is designed to be a yearlong class. It meets weekly on Tuesdays @ 11:00-11:55 at LEAD Homeshool in Decatur, Ga. The cost of the course is $225 per semester.
Classes start September 6, 2011 and follow the LEAD calendar.
Nota Bene: this class will not meet September 13th. Instead, a complimentary teacher -guided tour of the Classical collections at the Michael C. Carlos Museum is scheduled for Friday, November 11, 2011.
